 Plasterboards

We stock a huge range of Plasterboards suitable for all purposes, whether you are boarding ceilings and walls in the living room, bathroom, kitchen or insulating a garage we have a variety of types of board designed for the job.  Plasterboards are available in a variety of sizes including 2400mm x 1200mm (8' x 4') and 1800mm x 900mm (6' x 3') with other sizes available on request.  Thickness of the boards include 9.5mm, 12.5mm and 15mm.  The different types of boards available are listed below with a size chart at the bottom:

Square Edge - usually classed as the standard everyday board which is suitable for boarding walls and ceilings in a variety of rooms ideally suited to receive a plaster finish or direct decoration

Tapered Edge - have the same use as the square edge board above but are made with a taper to the edge of the board which only requires you to tape and fill the joint instead of skimming the whole board, thus saving time and effort

Fire Lined - a board specially designed for use in rooms where there is a risk of extreme heat or even a fire hazard (e.g. kitchen)

Foil Backed - a board specially designed for use in rooms with high moisture (e.g. bathroom and kitchen)

Thermal Laminate - a standard plasterboard with expanded polystyrene bonded to one surface providing a basic level of additional thermal insulation is required

Sound Board - is designed for use in areas where sound reduction is of particular importance.  Its high mass helps absorb sound energy, giving enhanced acoustic performance

Impact Board - is an impact resistant plasterboard offering toughness, durability and excellent load carrying capacity

Plasters and Adhesives

As well as our huge range of Plasterboards we stock a wide range of Plasters and Adhesives suitable for a variety of surfaces and backgrounds to complete your decorating jobs with products available from leading manufactures such as British Gypsum, Knauf and LaFarge.  A list of available plasters and adhesives can be found below along with their uses:

Thistle Board Finish - a finish coat plaster suitable for low-medium suction backgrounds (e.g. plasterboards)

Thistle Multi Finish - a finish coat plaster suitable for both undercoats and plasterboard

Thistle Bonding Coat - a undercoat plaster for low suction backgrounds (e.g. concrete, plasterboard or surfaces treated with bonding agents)

Thistle Browning - a undercoat plaster for solid backgrounds of moderate suction

Thistle One Coat - a versatile white plaster suitable for a variety of backgrounds.  Suitable for application by hand or mechanical plastering machine

Dry Wall Adhesive - a multi-purpose gypsum-based adhesive for direct bonding of plasterboards when dry lining on high, medium and low suction backgrounds
